RICHARDO

Richardo K. Brown-Whitt is a business and contracts attorney based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a focus on transactional law, municipal procurement, and regulatory compliance.

Richardo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating cum laude with departmental honors in both fields. His capstone explored the intersection of urban development and housing policy, foreshadowing a career built around the thoughtful application of law to public and private sector needs. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and participated in both the Litigation Clinic and Trial Practice Lab. While in law school, he served as a research assistant to Professor Brenda Gibson, contributing to scholarship on implicit bias and cognition in legal education.

After graduation, Richardo litigated civil rights and constitutional cases across Pennsylvania as a Martin Luther King Jr. Legal Fellow with the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project. He then transitioned to public service, where he served as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Pittsburgh. In that role, he negotiated large and small scaled contracts, advised departments on procurement and compliance matters, and drafted a wide range of public service agreements.

Today, Richardo particularly enjoys helping small businesses and creatives develop durable legal frameworks for growth and accountability. Richardo believes that effective lawyering starts with clarity, collaboration, and strategic foresight.

In addition to his legal practice, Richardo is a published author and the founder and operator of a multidisciplinary art studio.

Richardo is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
